The online tarot reading for August 2020 shows that this month will be pivotal in determining the next several months ahead. We're at odds with where we want to go and how, and how quickly, we can get there. Maybe if it only came down to us, we could swing something but that's not how the world works, is it? We're subject to the guidelines our environment imposes as well as the consequences from our actions once they ripple beyond our own microcosm to affect others. This is a delicate dance we're up to and we all hold some responsibility in determining the outcome. The Tarot card that may jump off the page at you is the Death card on the far right, but don't worry too much. This card is mostly associated with transformation and rebirth, lending us the theme for the month. Tarot Reading for August
The first Tarot card in the spread is the Page of Wands in the position of the current situation. We begin the month ready for action and feeling inspired as we look to the horizon. We're willing to step forward with courage and we're feeling hopeful about our ability to build a better future. After a period of stagnation, or perhaps false starts, there's a restless edge that has us stirring for movement. The suit of wands in Tarot is related to the element of fire, so we're talking about a burning, fast-moving energy that forces us forward. The Tarot card that plays out in the realm of our challenges this week is the King of Swords. Here we see an imposing figure that can occupy a position of leadership. As the question this month is regarding the state of the world in August, this can even refer to the collective decision-making power of governments and policy-makers globally. The suit of swords in Tarot is related to communication, ideas, laws and governance. It can even be extended to mean the field of medicine and the sciences. This card shown as a challenge can indicate the two-fold nature of the difficulties this month for governing bodies to find a solution to the medical crisis and implement the prescribed measures successfully. The other side of this is the challenge we may experience while trying to direct that fiery go-getter energy from the wands at the same time we're being restrained by government restrictions. This would seem to put progress and safety at odds, however as we continue through the reading it becomes clearer how we should be considering the situation to make the most of the month. Maybe we could benefit from slighlty adjusting our perspective to the reality in which we find ourselves. The Wheel of Fortune in Tarot corresponds to the number 10, which when upright, indicates the closing of a cycle or phase so that we may begin a new stage. When this Tarot card is reversed, we see this potential ending become truncated which inhibits our ability to wrap this up effectively. In the environment, we're going to see that it's going to take hard work on our part as individuals to contribute to the collective progress in closing this chapter. It is not going to be easy because likely this implies some type of personal sacrifice to attain our goals on a bigger level. This can feel like the wheel has stopped and we're suspended in time, that's where the stagnation and setbacks can play out. This aspect is more pronounced this month because it is directly in contrast to the passionate push forward we've already seen in the wands. Given the influences in the environment, it might be good to take a deep breath and not get too worked up if things to go exactly as you planned. In Tarot readings when the Emperor shows up, we see a strong emphasis on authority, security and what would be the cornerstone of whatever it is you're trying to build in life. When the Emperor is reversed, the leadership, maturity and responsiblity native to this card take on the imbalanced, harsher sides of their nature. In the position of advice, the Tarot cards are asking us not to be immature but to accept the responsiblity we have to the world around us. This month it's necessary to set strict rules, that likely feel oppressive, and follow them if we don't want the situation to get worse. If we try to push forward at all costs, we will only compound our problems. In essence, we should bite the bullet and make those personal sacrifices now so that we can regain our stability in the long-term. Again if we don't, the current state of the world, primarily induced by the chaos of the pandemic, may further deteriorate or become even more complex when trying to untangle it all. Better safe than sorry. The Death card looms over the Tarot reading as the outcome for August, which isn't usually a bad thing. In Tarot, this card brings about a transformation that leads to renewal or a type of rebirth. There is one caveat, in order to get to the renewal part, you have to discard and shed what no longer serves you first. This can be painful because it entails the death of certain ideas you've held or ways of living out your life. Once you've separated the wheat from the chaff, you can now make something greater and truer to your highest values. It may be hard to see from the beginning, but it's an exercise well worth undergoing to come out leaner and more energized on the other side. Think of the caterpillar that transforms into a butterfly. It's a whole process and it can't be rushed. Use the time to think about who it is you want to be after the transformation and welcome the opportunity when it presents itself.

Meditation classes, gurus, books and more have inundated the scene as a cure-all recipe for mindfulness and self-control. There must be something to it, right? It can seem a bit overwhelming to just jump right in when there appear to be so many different versions of how to do it the "right way." Something I found on my own inner journey is that the right way is what makes you feel most relaxed, uninhibited, comfortable and ready for the spectacular adventure that awaits when you're set to surrender. Once you start the path, you'll find more flow in your daily life as well as that voice in the back of your head that guides you intuitivetly along the way. It will grow louder and you'll be able to more easily identify what feels right for you as you act to fulfill your dreams and desires. Your intuition will come bubbling forth like a babbling brook if you put some time into the practice evey day. Just like anything, practice makes perfect so commit to getting to know yourself in a deeper way and you'll be seeing signs everywhere before you know it. The following are a few tips on how to sharpen those skills and a bit of anecdotal seasoning to show you what's possible. 1. Start SmallAt the beginning of any new pratice, you can't go in expecting to be an automatic expert. Meditation is like learning any new skill. If you keep your approach simple and realistic from the beginning, you're more likely to stick to it. As you keep showing up to practice, you'll start noticing how much you've improved. Your natural state of mind will become more peaceful, your inner journeys will become more insightful and you will enjoy meditating for longer periods of time. The first time I meditated, my time limit was five minutes. That may almost not seem like it was worth it, but you wouldn't believe how slowly those minutes passed. I could barely sit still for five minutes in waking life, let alone carve out a corner to spend them in immobile silence. The entire first week, I kept the time limit to five minutes. By the end, I could say that during five consecutive days, I had managed to keep up the practice. The next week, a full 10-minute period of meditative silence was the goal. I confess, I stayed there for a couple of months before jumping up to the 15-minute mark. It's a process afterall, getting used to tuning everything out, merging with the stillness. As any skill, regular practice is needed to maintain the proficieny. In busier moments, sometimes I don't manage to set aside the time to meditate, but once I come back, I often need to revert to a prior developmental stage until I am again able to practice with ease. The point is, set a small goal first and work your way up to stick with it long enough to see the benefits everyone raves about. Bonus tip: Start with guided meditations to get used to relaxing into a state of stillness. A quick search for guided meditations will give you tons of options. Pick the one that resonates with you and don't be afraid to try a few until you find a guide and a vibe that make you comfortable. 2. Set Your IntentionsMeditation is a way to access an entire universe within. There is boundless knowledge you can tap into to guide you along your path. You can ask any question and you will receive an answer, but you must ask the question. While you can leave the experience open-ended, it becomes more difficult to apply what you've learned if you can't nail down what specifically the information is referring to. It can be a broad question, but you'll get the best results if you have some parameter for the experience, or intention. Your intention can be anything you want to manifest, understand more clearly, areas where you would like to grow, the universe is the limit. Write it down before you meditate to crystallize the intention, leaving it there while you clear your mind during the meditative practice. Aside from an intention, I usually write a line of gratitude as well. Any action involving the soul will be amplified when it's done with gratitude. An attitude of gratitude is also the quickest way to manifest more of that for which one is thankful. |

In this Tarot reading, the first thing to catch our eye are the suits present. We have plenty of Wands as well as Cups with a few Pentacles sprinkled throughout. The Wands are going to put a particular emphasis on entrepreneurs and small business owners. This suit is also related to legacy building and the passion we pour into projects that are dear to us. Combined with the Pentacles, we see that the financial challenges facing small business owners aren't letting up yet. Three months from now, we'll still be in the thick of it as we continue trying to reinvent ourselves and adapt to the global changes forced on us by the Coronavirus outbreak. Only from October onward will we see the winds finally begin to change as we are able to start moving forward again. Big businesses, while undoubtedly being affected, won't experience anywhere near the dire consequences that small and medium-sized organizations face.
Another aspect of the Tarot reading that calls our attention is the distinct lack of Swords, with one exception (the Three of Swords, which we'll get into a little later). Swords would be related to the medical fallout, Coronavirus itself and the global healthcare system. Instead of Swords, we see Pentacles in the key positions of the Tarot spread. This tells us that the core of the problem and hardships people face have not been primarily medical in the grand scheme of things, but in the economic realm. The biggest harm done by the virus has not been to the healthcare system, but the financial repercussions of the decisions made by world leaders. Sure, who could have known how to deal with this situation appropriately mitigating the impact on the economy? But the cards leave one thing resoundingly clear, the consequences of the decisions made have weakened the global economy exposing the middle class and the attention given to the economic woes of populations all over the world have been negligent, at best. While it doesn't look like anybody will be coming to the rescue, the Tarot cards do tell us that it is within our power to start pulling ourselves out of the mess but it will require creativity.
Currently, the Ace of Pentacles is reversed which indicates that we've tried to adapt to the situation and have either modified the way we do business or have jumped into new ventures to hold us over for the time being. Unfortunately, and mostly in the case of entrepreneurs, the yields have been less than impressive. Change takes time to show results and we're not seeing much in the way of money flowing back to us at the moment. These new endeavors can even result in false starts. We've launched an idea but it didn't quite get off the ground in the way we had expected.
There's also another factor that is slowing our progress. The Tarot card that covers the reading and is the influence over this situation shows that in trying to reinvent ourselves and recover that lost income, we are being pulled in too many directions. We may have several different ideas on how to move forward, or maybe it's unclear to us what we really want now that we have the opporunity to usher in big changes. This lack of focus leads to our projects being unable to manifest consistently in the material world, so you end up dreaming of castles in the sky. Now is the time to choose the path and stick to it. You must know your limits, what's possible and what's not, clearly define your objectives and get to it before any more time transpires. If you continue mulling over 500 different ideas of what could be, you'll end up staying exactly where you are, and by the look of the cards, that's nowhere you want to be.
If we take a look back at the Tarot cards depicting Wands, it will give us an idea of the impact on our decisions given the difficult nature of the situation. The 10 reveals that our head is focused on navigating this oppressive state of affairs. We recognize that we have responsibilities but due to the environment, they become a heavy burden which make quick progress almost impossible. Under such pressure it's necessary to see where we can redistribute some of those responsibilities so we can find the focus to move forward. We may also need to go a little easy on ourselves. Given the circumstances, we're not going to handle everything perfectly or even as well as we would in a more "normal" atmosphere. Yes, we're a bit stuck, but we are masters of creation so think outside the box to see where you can beat a new path forward.
The other two Tarot cards in the suit of Wands are reversed, so that quick-moving nature that this suit normally represents is turned on it's head and is restricted from barrelling ahead as it would normally given its native proclivity. The feeling of lacking the strength to move on will finally ebb thoughout this second half of the year so we will see some movement forward. In the position of the short-term future, at around three months from now, we still won't be able to consider the transformation a victory. Our plans, especially regarding our home environment and small business adaptations will continue to be delayed. They may not yield any positive results at all at this point. Once we reach October we'll finally get a respite from the heaviness and chaos and we will be able to regroup at this point.
Moving on to the inner worlds of expectations and anxieties, we can see some of the currents that make us hesitate. In the position of our fears and anxieties, we see the card of change, especially when it comes to business and finances. We're afraid we'll be unable to juggle several things at once and we're reticent to implement major changes still. Well, now is definitely not the time to hesitate. Pick your path and start moving forward. Sure change is scary, but if you don't roll with it, you'll be hanging on to dead weight at this point.
It seems that those closest to us also have their doubts about whether we'll be able to get new ventures or modifications off the ground as well. These people feel that the sadness at what's been lost has become blinding and this is what makes our progress difficult. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, so you can take it or leave it. You can fulfill their prophecies or prove them wrong; it's up to you.
As for our expectations, we see the Three of Swords, or the card of Sorrow. Anytime Coronavirus has appeared in a reading since early February, at least in my readings, this is the card that's been associated with it. This shows that we expect the fallout from the virus to continue through the end of the year. No wonder we're feeling oppressed! Yes, of course the impacts will be lasting, but we can choose to use them to our advantage and move on or stay stuck in a rapidly changing world and be left behind.
Now for the final result! What will things look like at the end of 2020? The card of abundance awaits us at the end of the year! What's curious about this card is that it doesn't necessarily indicate material abundance, but an influx of creativity, inspiration, fulfillment, joy and even celebrations with those that have supported us along this difficult journey of transformation. The Three Graces are waiting at the finish line to receive us as we've been able to tap into our creative side to find a more fulfilling way to live our lives. We can look back on the challenges we've faced this year and appreciate how much we've grown, the beauty that has been brought forth in times of darkness and take a breather while we count our blessings and give ourselves a pat on the back.
The takeaways? This isn't over, but it's time to focus, get creative, and move through the delays with resilience as fulfillment awaits us on the other side of all of this.
The tarot reading this week shows a battle between the airy intellect of the swords and the stable, slow-moving material world found in the pentacles. There's a certain tension between the mind, which is almost too quick for us to keep up with, and bringing those ideas to manifestation in the physical world. It's going to take some hard work, there's no way around it. It seems that we intend to do more than just pay lip-service to what's going on upstairs, however there is some interference from the environment. We have to fight off the feeling of being overwhelmed, quiet the external noise and take a step by step approach to get things done. If we don't spring into action, those rogue elements in our surroundings will tug us back toward inaction, lethargy and poor decision-making based on a reactive mentality. These shadowy figures may even be putting on a farce, showing you one face while they are sneaking about behind your back to prey on your mistakes. We're well-equipped to tackle the challenge, but will our willpower pull us through? Read on to find out!
The tarot cards indicate that we enter the week aware of things and alert of our surroundings, but we'll need to hang on to that clarity to make it through unscathed. Mentally we're feeling courageous but we'll need to carry that energy over to the doing part, not just thinking. Still, half the battle is won because we are in the right frame of mind. We're taking our projects seriously this week and integrity is incredibly important to us. We have to be a bit careful because sometimes that can lead us to get carried away, to a place where we think we're always right. Courage is a positive trait to display, however it's only a fine line from arrogance. The sword we hold is double-edged, it can protect and defend or it can do some serious damage. Use it responsibly and you'll be able to defend yourself well this week against any forces that try to pull a quick one over on you.
The Eight of Swords is back this week after having made a few appearances last month. This would indicate that we still haven't moved past this particular challenge. This card is also known as the Lord of Interference, and that seems to be just what is going on this week. The interference is going to affect our ability to make decisions and find clarity to properly analyze situations. We can feel overwhelmed, or surrounded by danger on every side, but we really just need to take the blindfold off for ourselves to see the circumstances as they are. Once we face the challenges, we can finally start planning a way forward to safety. This is largely an interior process and reflects the need to calibrate the wheels in our head that ceaselessly spin, burning precious energy that could be channeled into something more prodcutive. While we're unable to escape the interference, we'll find it difficult to make decisions and we'll be faced with inaction. Because we're so caught up in our own thoughts, we may also miss identifying the rotten apple in our environment that's stirring up trouble. This would leave us exposed to being taken advantage of. Baby steps. Really, one foot in front of the other toward action and buidling the life you want. Once you get further down the road, you'll have more perspective to make the kind of decisions that will shape your future.
And here we have the rotten apple; unless the rotten apple is you! This is that sluggish energy that pulls us back toward inaction, in direct contrast with our quick-moving mind. In our environment there is a tug toward the earth's shadow characteristics. Where we would generally find a nurturing, productive and vibrant energy, we see sluggish, depressive influence around us. This can take form as a particular person, generally a woman, the same shadow aspect of ourselves, or the feeling in the environment. If this is a woman hanging around, you'll want to be extra careful with her because she'll likely put on a bit of a show for you in hopes that you'll trip up so she can swoop in and steal your glory. This is a stubborn energy, dark and gloomy; a lazy person that mooches off of the people around her. There can also be a potential material loss waiting for you, but mostly because it was spent carelessly and foolishly. Now you know what's lurking in the environment, you can call it by it's name and move right around it.
Take note here because the advice has us focusing on the material world. We're still trying to operate from the mind, but the universe is telling us that it's time to get our head out of the clouds. This is another wake up call to be aware of what's going on around us, especially in the organization and coordination of our material affairs. If we don't come down from our high-flying intellectualism, our plans may be cancelled, misunderstandings could lead to a loss of friendship or in really drastic cases, the loss of your home. Get it together! Here it would not be remiss to be overly cautious this week in any deals or decisions involving money and finance. We're distracted at the moment, so if we can't get our thoughts together and focus, better push back any decisions on money matters until next week.
Just like a sword, the outcome this week has two sides to it, so it's going to come down to you. This tarot card is the Lord of Peace, turned on its head, so either way the sword falls, we'll probably be a little taken aback at the course of events this week. If we apply the advice, we'll be able to release ourselves from the prison of the mind that the challenge represents. We'll find movement again as well as clarity in our decisions to move forward. We'll also be able to identify any two-faced imposters that are awaiting our downfall. This will be a relief because we've avoided becoming prey to a predator, however, it will be alarming as well when this person's true identity is revealed as something other than what we thought. If we fail to heed the counsel given by the cards, we won't recognize this duplicitous imposter and we'll be cut, in reality by our own sword because we didn't use it appropriately. This kind of disloyalty will shake things up and further rob our peace of mind. Just because we refuse to see things, doesn't mean that they aren't still there.
You got this! Get out of your head this week and make sure you're grounded to continue along your journey. Good luck on your own mystic revolution this week!
July Tarot Predictions & Private Tarot Readings
The Fool carries such a fun and adventurous energy! The boundless hope and quest for self-knowledge associated with this card is something we should all strive to maintain throughout life. When this card is reversed, however, we see the same courageous spirit turn slighlty foolish as the meaning takes on tint of immaturity.
Make sure you think plans through twice this month because there is decent chance that there is some aspect your haven't considered. It may even be substantial enough to delay your whole adventure. When beginning a new project or developing an activity to a new stage, set realistic goals so you set yourself up for success.
Check your sources when jumping into new arenas because there is a risk of false information in the environment. A dose of humility will serve you well as you encounter unexpected setbacks and perhaps even misadventure along the way.
Don't let any delays get you down. Take a minute to reflect on anything you could have miscalculated that contributed to the difficulties, fix it and move on. A preventative second glance at any serious plans in the making this month can pay off in avoiding unwanted detours along the way.
The Tarot reading for July brings stability and cooperation in your environment. The energy at play with the King of Wands is favorable for leadership, passion, stability and a trustworthiness that has been gained through experience. This is a force that stimulates curiousity and intellect and has a mature, practical approach to any undertakings.
If you are a woman and this man is in your surroundings, he is someone who places much importance on family life and securing a legacy for his descendants. This is a responsable man with a great sense of humor who enjoys the outdoors and country life. He is a noble, honest man that will stand up for what he believes in and does not tolerate pettiness. If this is you, a position of leadership with a tight-knit team would be a great fit.
This month this solid, guiding figure will be the wind at your back as you aim to secure your homelife and place in society. Don't be afraid to reach out and collaborate with this King as he can provide much wisdom for the journey.
When the swords appear, we can generally count on some challenges heading our way. The first reaction can be to tense up and brace for impact, head turned the other way to avoid facing the situation head-on. It would be a good time to note that just because we're not looking doesn't mean that it's not still coming toward us. The suit of swords is going to indicate mental activity, analytical processes and intellect, so that's the arena that will demand our attention throughout July.
The Eight of Swords is also known as the card of Interference which brings our attention to the clarity of our thoughts and capacity for discernment. The image in the card shows us that we're having difficulty seeing the obstacles around us; our intellect is bound. The bindings around our body, however, are quite loose so we could effectively shimmy free and thus be able to take off the blindfold and move forward. It's up to us to free ourselves here so we can get a clear look at the real challenges that surround us instead of fearing the worst while looking through our fingers.
You may feel that your surroundings are restrictive, or you feel bound in some way to your current situation. This can stoke the fear inside of us which leaves us powerless to act. We become indecisive and wallow in inaction because we're too afraid to move forward.
Recognize these inclinations this month and remember that you can take the blindfold off anytime. Once you do, you'll be able to face reality, eliminate the interference, get those emotions into a more balanced state and tap into your intellect to free yourself.
Tarot Reading For July 2020 |
Trouble is brewing this month and it's mostly due to volatile, shady characters in your environment. Wake up and smell the coffee because if you pay attention, you'll be able to spot these problematic people before they are able to do much harm. You'll want to be careful about the extermination process, however, because this type of person is very intelligent and is aware of just how to manipulate the stage so that they get what they want.
One characteristic that will make this person fairly easy to spot is his/her inclination to brag constantly about personal achievements, whether they are real or fabricated. This comes from an internal imbalance on their part which is further fueled by jealousy. Unfortunately, this person can employ cruel and even deceitful tactics to swing things in their favor, but only if they are left to their machinations.
It's best to avoid this person, or these type of people, altogether. Since that's not always entirely possible, if you need to push the situation toward a confrontation to call them out, be diplomatic. Your opponent is well prepared and is not afraid to take low blows so by using your diplomacy, you'll have the upperhand and can quell any disturbances before they become truly disruptive.
One piece of counsel, make sure to look in the mirror often, because sometimes this card can even represent the shadow version of ourselves. If we've become hardened and begin to use the sword of intellect in an ignoble way, better to ask ourselves why and address the issue head-on to resolve it. If we ignore this facet of ourselves, it can eventually lead to self-destruction so tread lightly. Be forgiving, but be ready to change; afterall, it's in your own self-interest.
This is an exciting month for you, Gemini. All of this renewed action is just the push you need to further explore ideas that you had already been mulling around. This dynamic energy favors your communication style and quick decision-making skills, even if you do go back and forth a bit while making up your mind. Now is the time to dive in head first and seize the currents to lead you to your dreams.
In Tarot, the Two of Wands shows us looking out over our dominion with the world in our hands. We've been contemplating our next move and now we have the support from friends and colleagues to give it our best shot and expand the empire. We will need to be courageous as we set out on this passionate, new adventure , but if we can do it, the effort will pay dividends. Material increase is indicated with these endeavours, so focus on your aspirations and make it happen.
Though the energy is fast and productive, it will still take time before you can harvest the fruits of your labor. Because you're more comfortable with the light and airy aspect of life, the time between begining a new adventure and finally reaching the destination can cause restlessness and a desire to change route. Don't give in; stick to the plan. This is the perfect opportunity to foster an appreciation for patience. Rome wasn't built in a day, so check your goals, keep on the path and follow through to reap the rewards.
It's natural to freak out a bit when you see the Death card, but it's not as bad as it looks. It would be much worse if it were reversed, so at least you have that. At this point, there's not much you can do except surrender to the change. I suppose you could resist transformation, but in doing that you're only delaying the process ultimately. Besides, when one thing comes to an end, it makes space for something new to be born. As painful as it may seem, it's for your own evolution as a person to take you one step closer to becoming the highest version of yourself
The end of something in your life is nearing, but right on the other side you'll find positive change awaits. This type of transformation is, in reality, a renewal and even a rebirth after death. This is the phoenix rising up from the ashes.
The transformative process is like getting an update to your software. Now you're open to new ideas and new opportunities that had been passing you by. You can discard what is no longer serving you in order to become leaner, more efficient and definitely improved.
Don't skirt change this month! The sooner you dive in, the quicker you'll come out the other side.
